Residents, families and staff at Arden House and Kendal House came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising a fantastic £405 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On 24 September, both Arden House Care Home in Pickering and Kendal House Care Home in Whitley Bay welcomed family members and friends into their homes for Macmillan Coffee Morning events.
The afternoons gave everyone the chance to enjoy good company, homemade treats and plenty of conversation, while raising money for a cause that means a great deal to many people.
Macmillan Coffee Morning at Arden House
At Arden House, residents, families, staff and visitors enjoyed an afternoon filled with cakes, refreshments and a great community atmosphere.
The team was delighted to raise an impressive £255 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the afternoon possible. Special thanks also go to the bakers who made and donated the cakes and treats enjoyed throughout the event.
The support from families and the local community helped turn the afternoon into a very special occasion for everyone at Arden House.
Coffee Morning and Raffle at Kendal House
Residents and families at Kendal House also came together to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
Alongside coffee and cakes, the home held a prize raffle, helping to raise even more money during the afternoon.
Together, residents, relatives, staff and visitors raised £150.
Events like this are a lovely opportunity for families to spend time together at the home, while residents enjoy seeing familiar faces and taking part in something that supports the wider community.
£405 Raised for Macmillan Cancer Support
Across the two homes, the events raised a combined £405 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who joined us, donated, baked, bought raffle tickets or helped organise the events.
Community activities and family involvement are an important part of life across Lenore Care. As well as raising money for worthwhile causes, occasions like these bring residents, relatives and staff together and create enjoyable shared experiences.
Macmillan Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest annual fundraising event, bringing people together to raise money for people living with cancer.
